AI agent platformsvs Callvu

AI agent platforms (Sierra, Decagon, Agentforce, Fin, Cognigy, Cresta, Eltropy) handle customer conversations and, increasingly, perform steps in back-end systems under guardrails. Callvu is the Completion and Compliance Layer behind them: the AI captures the request, and a deterministic orchestrator runs the regulated process through to the system of record, enforcing every regulation and company policy on every step. Callvu works with AI agents rather than replacing them.

The category

What AI agent platforms are built for.The fair version.

AI agent platforms build customer-facing agents for chat, voice and email. Many now let agents take actions in connected systems, and several document controls such as guardrails, supervisor agents, scripted or deterministic steps and audit logs. Even where builders script parts of the path, the AI interprets the request and decides the rest. Each vendor page below sets out what that vendor documents, with sources.

Where Callvu is different

Runtime enforcement.And the handoff.

Guardrails are not runtime enforcement. Guardrails limit and record what an AI does while the AI does the work. Even with guardrails, an AI that runs a step can write wrong data to the system of record, take a path that is not in the workflow, or act compliantly most of the time rather than every time. A deterministic orchestrator runs every step of a defined workflow and enforces every regulation and company policy before the step runs, whether a person or an AI started it. A step that fails a control does not run. AI only starts a process or evaluates it; it never runs the process. Every run produces a Decision Trace and an Audit Trace.

The handoff, not just the conversation. Callvu runs the handoff end to end with five moves: it prefills from the system of record, classifies each request the moment it lands, chases and verifies documents from customers and third parties on a clock, routes decisions to the Decision Desk, and writes the result back by API.

Evaluators on every action. Six evaluator agents assess every action, whether a person or an AI started it, and every decision is recorded in the Decision Trace and the Audit Trace.

Compare

Agentforce vs Callvu

Agentforce is Salesforce's AI agent platform for service, sales and internal work, with Agent Script for deterministic conditions and step order, actions through Apex and MuleSoft, Marshall for back-office processes on fixed paths, and the Einstein Trust Layer.

Compare

Cognigy vs Callvu

Cognigy, now part of NiCE, builds and runs voice and chat AI agents for contact centers, including agents that take actions through APIs such as payments and subscription changes.

Compare

Cresta vs Callvu

Cresta is contact center AI: real-time coaching for human agents, conversation intelligence, supervision of human and AI agents, AI agents for routine conversations and a new back-office agent.

Compare

Decagon vs Callvu

Decagon builds AI agents that resolve customer service conversations across chat, voice and email, following natural-language procedures backed by code, and taking actions such as payments and payment plans.

Compare

Eltropy vs Callvu

Eltropy is a member communications and AI agent platform for credit unions and community banks, covering text, chat, video and voice, with AI agents that handle routine member requests.

Compare

Fin vs Callvu

Fin, formerly Intercom and now part of Salesforce, is an AI customer service agent that answers questions and runs Procedures to take actions such as refunds and exchanges across chat, email and voice.

Compare

Sierra vs Callvu

Sierra builds AI agents for customer experience, with supervisor agents, deterministic and controlled access to systems of record, and actions such as payments, payment plans and mortgage preapproval.

Using them together

Keep what works.Add the layer that finishes it.

Keep the AI agent for the conversation. When a request needs regulated work, the agent hands off to Callvu by API or MCP; Callvu runs the process deterministically, writes back to the system of record and returns the result and the Audit Trace to the agent. Callvu can also run the whole process on its own, on web, mobile and Visual IVR.

FAQ

The questions buyers ask.Answered plainly.

Do AI agent platforms enforce compliance at runtime?
Most put guardrails on AI agents that perform steps, and some add scripted or deterministic steps. The AI still interprets the procedure and decides the path. Callvu enforces every regulation and company policy on every step with a deterministic orchestrator, and AI never runs the process.
Is it safe to let an AI agent write to the system of record?
Even with guardrails, an AI that performs a step can write wrong data, take a path that is not in the workflow, or be compliant most of the time rather than every time. With Callvu, the AI captures the request and a deterministic orchestrator executes it.
Does Callvu replace our AI agent?
No. Callvu works behind the AI agent: the agent handles the conversation and Callvu runs the regulated process to completion.
What is the difference between guardrails and deterministic execution?
Guardrails constrain an AI that is doing the work. Deterministic execution means the AI does not do the work: a defined workflow runs every step and enforces every control before the step runs.
