nCinovs Callvu
nCino is a loan origination and account opening platform on Salesforce, used by banks and credit unions for commercial, small business, consumer and mortgage lending. Callvu is the Completion and Compliance Layer: it runs the regulated work around and after origination, such as servicing requests, document chases and approvals, from the customer's request to the core, with compliance enforced at every step. Callvu integrates with nCino, so most institutions use them together rather than choosing one.

The fair version
What nCino is built for.Sourced from their own pages.
nCino is a public company that describes its platform as cloud-based, with fundamental elements built on the Salesforce Platform [1]. It connects onboarding and lending into one workflow [2]. Its lending products cover commercial lending, which nCino markets as a commercial loan origination system [3], consumer lending [4] and small business lending [8], and credit portfolio management adds continuous credit monitoring and early warning after origination [15]. Account opening covers consumer, small business and commercial accounts online, on mobile or in branch, with KYC, KYB and AML screening embedded in the workflow and a full audit trail [5]. Its mortgage products, formerly SimpleNexus [7], cover mortgage origination workflows through closing [6]. On AI, nCino offers Banking Advisor [9], five role-based Digital Partners launched in November 2025 [10], an Agentic Operating System for governing AI [11], a Mortgage MCP that keeps agents within existing permissions, can require human confirmation for higher-impact actions and logs each agent action [13], and, since October 2026, a Loan Officer Productivity Suite with Loan PreCheck, automated pre-approval and automated disclosures and redisclosures [14]. Integration Gateway connects to cores including Fiserv, Jack Henry and FIS [12]. nCino reports more than 2,700 customers, about 1,500 of them depository institutions [1], and has a dedicated credit union offering [8].
When to choose which
Two different jobs.Pick the one you need.
When to choose nCino
Choose nCino when you need the origination and account opening platform itself: commercial, small business, consumer or mortgage origination with underwriting workflow and automated booking [2][3][4], or a unified account opening experience across channels [5]. It suits banks and credit unions that are comfortable with a Salesforce-based platform [1] and want role-based AI agents for lending staff [10][14].
When to choose Callvu
Choose Callvu when origination is in place and the cost sits around and after it. nCino's 10-K product list has no loan servicing product [1], and loan accounts and repayments are held in the bank's core, such as Fiserv, Jack Henry or FIS, which nCino connects to [12]. Servicing requests, payment changes, member account changes, wires and other back-office processes still depend on re-keying, inboxes and email. Callvu runs that work end to end: it prefills from the core and nCino, classifies each request with work type, skill, effort and due date the moment it lands, chases and verifies documents from borrowers and outside parties on a clock, routes decisions to the Decision Desk, and writes the result back by API.
Choose Callvu, too, when compliance has to be enforced while the work runs and the evidence must be complete. nCino's compliance controls sit inside its own products, such as screening in account opening [5] and disclosures in mortgage [14]. Callvu Studio comes with most regulations already loaded as policies, and every run produces a Decision Trace and an Audit Trace that Callvu pushes in real time to your GRC and BI tools. That applies whether a person, a member, Callvu AI or an AI agent in your lending stack started the process.
Guardrails are not runtime enforcement. nCino's Agentic Operating System provides guardrails to deploy and govern AI [11], and its Digital Partners carry out tasks such as documentation and compliance validation [10]. Guardrails limit and record what an AI does while it does the work. Even with guardrails, an AI that runs a step can write wrong data to the system of record, take a path that is not in the workflow, or act compliantly most of the time rather than every time. Callvu does not let AI run the process. A deterministic orchestrator executes every step of a defined workflow and enforces every control before the step runs; AI, yours or Callvu's, only starts a process or evaluates it. The system of record receives only what the workflow allows, and every run is recorded in a Decision Trace and an Audit Trace.
Choose Callvu, too, when time and services cost matter. nCino says regional and community banks are typically implemented in under six months, and large enterprises can take more than twelve [1]. Callvu's license includes white-glove design, implementation, maintenance and optimization for as long as it runs, with no separate services project, and Callvu goes live in a few weeks: PSEG Long Island went live in 4 weeks, and Phoenix Insurance integrated all core systems in 4 weeks.
Side by side
The verifiable facts.Nothing else.
Every cell about nCino is sourced from its own public pages. Runtime enforcement and the handoff lead the table because they are where the two differ most.
| Capability | nCino | |
|---|---|---|
| Primary role | Completion and Compliance Layer between every front door and the system of record | Loan origination and account opening platform [1] |
| Runtime compliance enforcement | Yes. A deterministic orchestrator runs every step; AI never runs the process. Every regulation and company policy is enforced on every step while the work runs, whether a person or an AI started it; a step that fails a control does not run. A Decision Trace and an Audit Trace for every run | Partial. Account opening embeds KYC, KYB and AML screening in the workflow with a full audit trail; Mortgage MCP keeps AI agents within existing user permissions and can require human confirmation for higher-impact actions; mortgage disclosures and redisclosures are automated for standard loan templates. Not documented: a policy layer that enforces every regulation and company policy on every step of processes outside its products, such as servicing, and stops a step that fails a control [5] |
| Front-to-back-office handoff | Yes, end to end: prefill from the core, classify the work, chase and verify documents, route decisions to the Decision Desk and write back to the system of record. Back-office planning starts the moment the front end starts | Origination workflow with automated booking and loan data synced to the core through Integration Gateway; no loan servicing product in its 10-K product list [12] |
| Platform foundation | Independent of any CRM; integrates with Salesforce and other systems | Built on the Salesforce Platform [1] |
| Lending origination | Not a loan origination system; runs intake, conditions and handoffs around the LOS and writes back to it | Commercial, small business, consumer and mortgage origination [3] |
| Loan servicing requests | Runs servicing requests end to end: payment changes, payoffs, deferrals, account changes and more, written back to the core | Credit portfolio monitoring and early warning after origination; no loan servicing product in its 10-K product list [1] |
| Documents from customers and outside parties | Requests each missing item from the right party on a clock, reads it on arrival (OCR) and checks it against what the loan type needs | Commercial lending includes a document repository for loan documents [3] |
| AI agents | Callvu AI chat or your own AI agent can start a governed process; six evaluator agents assess every action before it runs, whether a person or an AI started it | Banking Advisor, five Digital Partners (role-based agents launched Nov 2025) and, since October 2026, a Loan Officer Productivity Suite for mortgage [10] |
| AI guardrails vs deterministic execution | Deterministic execution, not guardrails: AI never runs the process. A deterministic orchestrator executes every step and enforces every control before it runs, so nothing unchecked reaches the system of record and no step outside the workflow can happen. A Decision Trace and an Audit Trace for every run | Agentic Operating System described as guardrails to deploy and govern AI; Mortgage MCP keeps agents within existing user permissions, can require human confirmation for higher-impact actions and logs each agent action [13] |
| Core integrations | Fiserv, FIS, Jack Henry, CSI, Corelation (KeyStone), Finastra, and nCino itself; more added per customer | Integration Gateway with connectors for Fiserv, Jack Henry and FIS [12] |
| Deployment and professional services | White-glove design, implementation, maintenance and optimization included in the license, for as long as it runs; no separate services project. Live in a few weeks: PSEG Long Island went live in 4 weeks, and Phoenix Insurance integrated all core systems in 4 weeks | Regional and community banks typically implemented in under six months; large enterprises can exceed twelve months (per its 10-K) [1] |
Using both together
Keep what works.Add the layer that finishes it.
Callvu integrates with nCino. nCino stays the origination and account opening platform, and Callvu handles everything regulated that surrounds it: intake from any channel prefilled from nCino and the core, conditions and documents chased from borrowers and outside parties, human decisions in the Decision Desk, servicing requests after booking, and the write back to nCino and the core. Every run carries a Decision Trace and an Audit Trace.
