MeridianLinkvs Callvu

MeridianLink is a loan origination and account opening platform used by credit unions and community banks for consumer, indirect and mortgage lending and digital account opening. Callvu is the Completion and Compliance Layer: it runs the regulated work around and after origination, from the member's request through the back office to the core, deterministically, with compliance enforced at every step. Callvu integrates with MeridianLink, so most institutions use them together rather than choosing one.

The fair version

What MeridianLink is built for.Sourced from their own pages.

MeridianLink sells lending and account opening software [1] and has been private since Centerbridge Partners completed its acquisition in October 2025 [2]. MeridianLink Consumer is a cloud consumer loan origination system with configurable underwriting rules [4]; MeridianLink Opening handles digital deposit account opening with identity verification, built-in CIP, KYC and beneficial ownership workflows, OFAC screening, real-time funding and direct core integration that updates the core automatically [5]; and MeridianLink Mortgage is a cloud mortgage loan origination system with real-time compliance checks and built-in document management [6]. MeridianLink Collect provides collections work queues and a borrower self-service portal [9], and Pathway, from the Credit Mountain acquisition, handles adverse action [3]. Its 2026 releases added platform enhancements, including a core lookup that pulls borrower information from the core into the application [7][12], and MeridianLink Intelligence AI agents, starting with Doc Agent for Mortgage, which writes borrower document requests, checks uploads and extracts data for one-click application updates, with general availability planned for the fourth quarter of 2026 and a consumer version planned for early 2027 [8][10][12]. Jack Henry resells MeridianLink One [11].

When to choose which

Two different jobs.Pick the one you need.

When to choose MeridianLink

Choose MeridianLink when you need the origination and account opening platform itself: consumer and indirect loan origination with automated underwriting [4], mortgage origination [6], or digital account opening with identity, KYC and funding built in [5], at a credit union or community bank. It also fits institutions on Jack Henry that want a reseller relationship [11].

When to choose Callvu

Choose Callvu when origination is in place and the cost sits around and after it. MeridianLink's prefill, document handling and core updates are documented inside its own products [5][12]; servicing requests, member account changes, wires and other back-office processes still depend on re-keying, inboxes and email. Callvu runs that work end to end: it prefills from the core and MeridianLink, classifies each request with work type, skill, effort and due date the moment it lands, chases and verifies documents from members and outside parties on a clock, routes decisions to the Decision Desk, and writes the result back by API.

Guardrails are not runtime enforcement. MeridianLink's Doc Agent writes document requests, checks uploads and extracts data for one-click application updates, with human oversight [8][10][12], on a platform MeridianLink describes as having embedded compliance logic. Guardrails limit and record what an AI does while it does the work. Even with guardrails, an AI that runs a step can write wrong data to the system of record, take a path that is not in the workflow, or act compliantly most of the time rather than every time. Callvu does not let AI run the process. A deterministic orchestrator executes every step of a defined workflow and enforces every control before the step runs; AI, yours or Callvu's, only starts a process or evaluates it. Every run is recorded in a Decision Trace and an Audit Trace.

The verifiable facts.Nothing else.

Every cell about MeridianLink is sourced from its own public pages. Runtime enforcement and the handoff lead the table because they are where the two differ most.

Using both together

Keep what works.Add the layer that finishes it.

Callvu integrates with MeridianLink. MeridianLink stays the origination and account opening platform, and Callvu handles everything regulated that surrounds it: intake from any channel prefilled from MeridianLink and the core, conditions and documents chased from members and outside parties, human decisions in the Decision Desk, servicing requests after booking, and the write back to MeridianLink and the core. Every run carries a Decision Trace and an Audit Trace.

FAQ

The questions buyers ask.Answered plainly.

Does MeridianLink enforce compliance at runtime?
Partly. MeridianLink builds compliance checks into its products, such as CIP, KYC and OFAC screening in account opening and real-time compliance checks throughout the mortgage process, and describes its platform as having embedded compliance logic. That covers its own products. It does not document a policy layer that enforces every regulation and company policy on every step of every process, including servicing and work outside the loan system. Callvu does, and AI never runs the process: a deterministic orchestrator does.
Does Callvu integrate with MeridianLink?
Yes. Callvu reads from and writes back to MeridianLink and the core by API. MeridianLink stays the origination and account opening platform; Callvu runs the regulated work around and after it.
What does a credit union still need after MeridianLink?
MeridianLink covers origination, account opening and collections. Servicing requests, member account changes, wires, disputes and other back-office processes still need to reach the core complete and compliant. Callvu runs those end to end, with documents chased on a clock, decisions in the Decision Desk and every step enforced.
Is it safe to let an AI agent update a loan application with document data?
MeridianLink describes Doc Agent as working with human oversight. Even with embedded checks and human review, an AI that performs a step can write wrong data to the system of record or take a path that is not in the workflow. In Callvu, AI can start or evaluate a process, but a deterministic orchestrator executes every step and enforces every control before anything is written.
How fast can Callvu go live alongside MeridianLink?
Callvu builds the process for you and launches in a few weeks. A proof of value runs on one of your own processes first.
